Performing Arts Center

This week, we take a sneak peek behind the scenes to learn a little more about SLEA’s Performing Arts Center.

The theatre is an original creation made exclusively for SLEA. Located in the south-east corner of central region 7, the visitor is greeted with a stunning panorama of dancing fountains flanked by the Bridge Project and the Grant Artist Quad Region. A beautiful sunrise bestows an arresting backdrop to this salutation.

Sneak peek

Upon encountering the main stage, one may first be fooled into believing it is a fixed structure. However, it has been constructed so as to be lowered into the water below, making way for performers to place their own stage preferences. Comfortable seating, capable of accommodating an audience of up to 100 residents, adorns either side of a central aisle stretching from the entrance to the performance area.

As with much of the future of SLEA, the limit to use of the Performing Arts Center is only the imagination of contributing artists. While we envisage singers, musicians, theatrical and dance groups will take their place in the spotlight, other performance forms are very welcome, including but not limited to lectures, readings, etc.

Booking dates for 2021 are now open for all performing arts groups. If interested, please contact coordinators, Tansee or Hannington Xeltentat inworld.
